What coin are your referring to? I am just wondering. Could this have possibly been part of the translation from Hebrew to English that most equally respresented the intended item?

I find many of todays to be much worse than the KJV for its "translations".

I agree alot with CC. When reading the Bible, prayer is key to helping open the doors to knowledge and understanding. Unfortunately, I feel as though I know very little, and wish I understood more.

What is the best Bible to have that has the original content in it? I know the Bible has been wrote many times over through the years, but I have always felt that the scriptures were of all truth and there wasn't much difference in the wording. I am curious though to read the Bible from it's original contents.

Why read the original Bible when you can speak to God directly and learn what you need straight from the source?

Because when we pray we must pray according to Gods will. When we get answers from our prayers what is the measuring stick? What I mean is this, How do we know it is God and his answer to our prayers?

God also sent his word through his Spirit to his preachers, teachers, disciples, and etc. I am interested in what the scriptures say and how they were wrote. Jesus himself stood in the temple and read from the Scripture, he went at the age of 12 to hear the scriptures being read. So I too am interested to read them if they are different than the KJV.

So, are we saying that there is no need for the Bible as a measuring stick? Can we just throw it away then and just pray?I am confused.

I'm saying that religion and the Bible are all fine and well as a guideline by which to have a belief structure, but the beliefs and faith in them themselves is what separates sheeple and people who can think for themselves. That's what really matters--exploring it for yourself and believing based off what you've learned, not what Reverend X has proclaimed or the 52nd bastardization of God's word known as our modern bibles.

Sheeple = people who believe just because they're told to believe, or they're told a certain thing is true so they believe w/o any first-hand knowledge. I'm not a sheeple. I don't think any of us should be, but I think there's quite a few on here and in this area who are.

If God only wanted his children to pray, then he never would have told his prophets,teachers,preachers to write his word down. It is proof sent down to us to read and understand who he is and all that he has done over time.
With the old testament we read stories where God revealed who he was and even in the new testament with Mary Magdalene, Jesus said when she washed his feet with expensive perfume and her tears that what she done would always be known. That was wrote down, inspired by the Holy Spirit for all man to read and know how she touched the heart of God.

Saul(Paul of Tarsus) was in prison and the Holy Spirit inspired him to write most of the New Testament. There is power in his word, and God wants all to read his word and to pray unto him.

This is the first time I have ever used the word "confused". Why do you compare me with a former poster. YOu just failed to effectively explain yourself so that is why I asked.Yes, I believe also that we should explore for ourselves and see what God would have us to do. At the same time just because one holds that belief, does that mean that we can shunn teachers of the word because we are unable to take instruction from them based on this belief? What is the 52nd bastardization of God's Word? Can it be dangerous to spread that assumption or belief to people? Because what it could do is turn people away from Reading the Bible because they become fixated in the believe that it all has been changed, so there is no use in reading it. Where do you get the information that it has been changed? Just curious.
